Course: Introduction to Wine  

This 3 hour course is for people with basic wine knowledge. The course introduces you to all main styles of wine, key world wine regions and provides essential wine tasting knowledge and experience focusing on the 7  benchmark wines. The course also focuses on essential wine tasting techniques and wine and food matching guidelines. 

Course outcomes:
  • Recognise and describe the main styles of wine 
  • Describe the general characteristics of the main grape varieties 
  • Be able to take simple tasting notes 
  • Understand food and wine matching guidelines

Course segments (1 hour each):
  1. Introduction to wine
  2. Wine tasting of 7 wines (Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon)
  3. Food and wine matching 
Original Price for 1 person: $139 + tax (includes sampling of 7 wines and crackers). All wine tasting will be conducted in professional wine glassware.
